The Experience
From the moment I pick up my camera to the final edit, my focus is simple. I create images that feel real, connected, and worth holding onto. I am not just documenting what you look like. I am capturing how it feels to be in this season of life.
Every family is different, and I approach each session with that in mind. I guide when needed, step back when it matters, and look for the moments that are natural, emotional, and true to you. My style is rooted in directed photojournalism. You will never be left wondering what to do, but you will also never feel overly posed. The result is a gallery that feels effortless and genuine, while still being beautifully composed.
Planning Your Session
Your session is designed with intention from the start. We will walk through your vision, your style, and how you want your images to feel. Most sessions take place outdoors in natural light or in my private studio. If you are drawn to a more personal and relaxed setting, we can also photograph in your home. If children are involved, we will choose a time that works with their energy and personality. For outdoor sessions, the best light happens shortly after sunrise or in the hour leading into sunset. This is when your images will have that soft, glowing finish. Studio sessions offer more flexibility and are scheduled during daylight hours.
Booking Your Session
A $100 non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date, time, and location. This amount is applied toward your total collection. Your retainer can be transferred to one rescheduled session as long as it falls within The Lovely Rose rescheduling policy outlined in your contract. If weather or an emergency on my end requires a change, your session will be rescheduled with your retainer fully honored. A signed contract is required prior to booking confirmation.
Once you are officially booked, we will finalize all details through email, text, or phone, whichever is easiest for you.
What to Expect During Your Session
Sessions are designed around an estimated timeframe, but I work with flexibility to ensure your gallery is complete.
I move with intention, especially when working with children. I keep things light, interactive, and natural so everyone stays engaged. This often includes play, movement, and simple prompts that bring out real expressions. Most of your key images are captured early in the session. This allows us to move into more candid, relaxed moments without pressure. If kids need a break or energy shifts, we already have what we need.You will not feel rushed, but you also will not be stuck in an overly long session. I know how to balance both.
Editing and Delivery
Within a few days, you will see a sneak peek from your session shared on social media. Your full gallery is then carefully hand edited with attention to color, tone, and detail. Every image is refined to create a cohesive and polished final result while still maintaining a natural look.Final galleries are delivered within two to three weeks. You will receive a more exact timeline at your session.
Your Gallery and Images
Your images will be delivered through a private online gallery sent directly to your email. From there, you will select your included images and have the option to purchase additional favorites. Once your selections are complete, you will receive access to your high resolution downloads. All images include a print release, giving you the freedom to print wherever you choose. You can also share your gallery with friends and family.
Additional Offerings
Select collections include a video slideshow of your images, designed to be easily shared.
If your collection includes digital design options, you will be able to choose from a curated selection such as announcements, cards, and other custom pieces.
